Millions of freelancers and work shifters in the United States celebrate the benefits of remote work options, such as more time with family, higher productivity, lower commuting costs, and an overall healthier lifestyle. But 40 percent of these people experience feelings of isolation and loneliness according to research done by Cube Free, a work space finder app by Citrix Labs.

If you’re craving in person human interaction but feel guilty for occupying a cafe for half a day, you may want to consider co-working spaces. These public shared offices are filled with professionals from different organizations and industries, and most typically require either a membership or contract-free fee for daily, weekly, or monthly use. They provide desks, meeting rooms, usually private and designated quiet spaces, and, perhaps most importantly, a community of others who are in the same boat as you.

According to Deskmag’s second annual Global Co-working Survey, 53 percent of people who go to Co-working spaces are freelancers, and 84 percent go to co-working spaces for the interaction with people.
