Nowadays, everything and anything is available on the internet. Whether you need to buy stuff or want to pay electricity bills, it’s all possible online. And to top it all, the internet has made it so much simpler to get your passport. By following few simple steps, you can get your passport in just a matter of few days that too online.

Here is how it can be done:

1. Get Registered:

The first thing to do is to get yourself registered through the “Passport Seva Online Portal”.

If you’re a new user, click on the ‘register now’ link and fill in the required details.

 

You will receive your login ID on your registered email address. Thereafter, you will be redirected to the home page.

2. Login:

Once you are registered and you receive your login Id, activate your account by clicking on the link received on your email ID. Login through your username and password. Thereafter, click on the link ‘Apply for Fresh Passport’ or ‘Re-issue of Passport’. You will get two options; click on the second one to fill the form online.

3. Click “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport link:

If you are applying for passport for the first time, click on ‘Apply for Fresh Passport link’. Thereafter you will be required to fill in some forms. Take your time for providing with the details, lest there should be a mistake. For once the passport process fails, it takes a lot of time to reapply.

4. Form submission:

Once you have filled the form with the required details, save it. You can now access this page anytime by using your username and password. In the next page, fill in your family details. You can save it and then move to the next page to provide your permanent address. Provide with your emergency contact details as well.

5. Pay and schedule appointment:

Click on the “Pay and schedule appointment” link on the “View Saved/Submitted Application” screen to schedule appointment.

Online payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all Passport Seva Kendras.

6. Print application Receipt:

Click on the “Print Application Receipt” link to print your application receipt containing the Application Reference Number(ARN)/Appointment Number.

7. Carry Original Documents:

Carry to the designated Passport Seva Kendra all your required original documents. Well, within about 7 days, you will receive your passport at home.
